RCMP seeks help finding Amazon hub break-in suspect

Distribution point for packages shipped to Iqaluit was broken into on Sept. 30, police say

By Nunatsiaq News

Police in Iqaluit have asked for the public’s help in finding the person who broke into the Amazon hub in the city early on Sept. 30.

On Tuesday, police released a photo of the person they believe is behind the break-in.

Iqaluit’s Amazon hub is the distribution point where customers pick up packages they have purchased from the online shopping company. It is located in a building beside the airport. Residents can go to the hub to collect their packages once they are ready for pickup.

There is no dollar amount available for the property taken during the break-in at this time, and there was minimal damage, Sgt. Pauline Melanson told Nunatsiaq News.

RCMP in Iqaluit have asked anyone who recognizes the person in the picture to contact the detachment at 867-979-0123.

Tips can be made anonymously through Crime Stoppers by phoning 1-800-222-8477. Web tips can be submitted to www.nwtnutips.com or by texting ‘NWTNUTIPS’.

It is October 10. This happened nearly 2 weeks ago. Why is this only being released now? It would have been more effective if it was released sooner, no?

Is it just me or does he have a key in his hand. If this would be the fact, it’s not a break-in and more like an unauthorized entering. Not enough for many warm meals unless theft can be added. Either way, the Hub has a lots of packages and there can be some very valuable items in them. Please protect the building better.
