RCMP in Iqaluit seized drugs, cash, stolen items and a weapon during a Dec. 20 search at a Nipisa Street residence.

During the operation, approximately 57 grams of cocaine — both powder and crack — was confiscated. Also seized was several hundred dollars in cash, cellphones, a pellet pistol, scales, and items identified as stolen from a break and enter at an Iqaluit-based business, RCMP said in a news release Tuesday.

Three individuals aged 36, 40 and 58 were charged following the raid.

All three were charged under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act with possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking. One suspect was also charged with the Criminal Code offence of possession of property obtained by crime.

The individuals involved were released from custody and are scheduled to appear in court Feb. 6 in Iqaluit.

    They seized $152, including a $2 bill.
$2 bills have not been in circulation for several decades.
    Something odd going on here.

Well spotted! I think $2 bills are still legal tender so they can be used. Otherwise, they may have just been keepsakes lying around that were seized with the other cash.

I checked online and as of January 1 , 2021 $2 bills are considered no longer legal tender.
Pablo Escobar should ask for his $2 back

There’s a pellet gun in the picture because it was confiscated. A pellet gun looks like a gun in the dark and feels like one when it is pressed against you. A pellet gun can be used to intimidate others and even hurt others. I see no pint in owning a pellet gun except for mischief.

What if you’re carrying a 243 for caribou but want to have a small pistol-style pellet gun in case you come across some ptarmigan?
