RCMP nab booze bound for Dorset

By NUNATSIAQ NEWS

On Friday, Oct. 27, police at the airport seized one of the largest amounts of booze ever in Iqaluit, as they picked up 69 mickeys and six 1.75-litre bottles destined for Cape Dorset.

“This amount of liquor entering a controlled community at one time may have led to a very busy weekend for the local RCMP members,” said Cst. Peter Lambros of the “V” division drug section.

No charges have been laid as a result of this seizure and the investigation continues, police said.
