Reading and putting in Pang
IQALUIT — Celebrities and Nunavut officials teed off in Pangnirtung this week as part of the Peter Gzowski Invitational Golf Tournament.
Gzowski, a CBC radio personality, has been organizing the tournaments to support northern literacy since 1989.
Money earned from this year’s tournament will go to the Nunavut Literacy Council.
Southern celebrities who took to the sea-ice “greens” this week included teen talk-show host Jonathan Torrens, boy-band star Scott Moffatt, and MuchMusic VJ George Stroumboulopoulos.
Joining them on the links were be Nunavut Premier Paul Okalik, Education Minister Peter Kilabuk, and language commissioner Eva Arreak.
