A new corporate captain will be manning the ship at Transport Nanuk Inc. and the NEAS sealift shipping companies.

NEAS Group and Transport Nanuk named Daniel Dagenais as their new president and chief executive officer, a news release issued Monday states.

Dagenais, who recently served as a vice-president with the Montreal Port Authority, takes over the job Oct. 10. He replaces Suzanne Paquin, who is retiring after 25 years in the position.

“I am really excited to be joining the NEAS Group and look forward to working with the team in place to further develop these essential services for our Northern communities in Canada,” Dagenais said in a news release.

“The Arctic region offers great opportunities, and I am thrilled to be part of a company that is a leader in its development.”

NEAS Group Inc. includes Nunavut Eastern Arctic Shipping Inc. and Nunavik Eastern Arctic Shipping Inc. During the summer, NEAS ships are a regular sight in northern communities, delivering various goods over the course of the sealift season.

“He will be an important asset to NEAS’s industry-leading performance to deliver goods to the Arctic communities, while leading our efforts towards a sustainable future.”

NEAS Group Inc. is owned by Makivvik Corp. and Transport Nanuk Inc.

Sakku is losing out, so closed to the Port of Church and yet so far. Get into the action because you will have to pay huge cargo cost of your pre-fab houses to a shipping company and making your clients pay top dollar. Make your life easier. for 50 mil investment (you can find for a cargo company, if you work hard as your paychecks amounts)….the path was narrow sighted and narrow minded without logistics. Sakku; for profitability; all you need is Kivalliq and Eastern shores of Hudson Bay for cliental.

      Dear Hermann.
You might be happy to know that Sakku has been an owner of Nunavut Sealink and Supply for about a decade…
