The body of a man missing on the Inukjuak River since Sept. 23 has been found.
Volunteers came out in droves to assist in the search, scanning the area by boat, plane and ATV.
A Sûreté du Québec dive team was in town assisting the local search rescue team, community members and the Kativik Regional Police Force, said town manager Shaomik Inukpuk.
Three divers arrived on Sept. 24, according to the Kativik Regional Government, and the KRPF chartered a plane to fly over the river searching for any sign of the man.
“We have a considerable amount of volunteers doing the search on the shores, almost 100 people volunteering all over town,” Inukpuk said at the time. “Bringing hot coffee, bringing in bannock, stuff like that, they assist each other.”
Inukpuk said the missing man was from Kuujjuaraapik but has family in Inukjuak.
