See museum’s “Annuraaq” online

You don’t have to go to London, England, to see the British Museum’s exhibit of Inuit clothing. A tour of the exhibit is on the Internet at www.thebritishmuseum.ac.uk/annuraaq/index.html.

The exhibition, whose name means “a piece of clothing,” focuses on clothing made by the people of Igloolik, and explores the process of making and using clothing.

The Nunavut Research Institute’s Igloolik Research Centre, and the Inullariit Elders’ Society recorded much of the information from elders in Igloolik.

“Annuraaq” includes both contemporary and historic clothing and tools from across the Canadian Arctic.
