The Northern Lights conference and trade show, which brought together the North’s political, cultural and business leaders over five days, closed with a gala Saturday in Ottawa.

While it ran, the conference included discussions that ranged from helping artists sell their artwork, to an introduction to government procurement for Inuit businesses in Nunavut, and Arctic security and defence.

Keynote speakers during the week included Natan Obed, president of Inuit Tapiriit Kanatami, Brian Penney, CEO of Baffinland Iron Mines Corp., and Siila Watt-Cloutier, a Nobel prize nominee and activist.
