Photo: Serving the public, face to face

July 9: Premier Eva Aariak got to perform some face-to-face public service Thursday morning, when she dished out sausages and pancakes to Iqaluit residents gathered at the back parking lot of the Nunavut legislature for the premier’s annual Nunavut Day breakfast. In the afternoon, Nunavut Day organizers put on an afternoon of fun in front of Nakasuk School, with throat singing, Inuit games, entertainment by the Gjoa Band and free food. At 7:00 p.m., Iqaluit residents were invited to the grand opening of Canadian North’s new cargo warehouse off Federal Road. (PHOTO BY JIM BELL)
