Sewing a sealskin tent
Two seamstresses from Gjoa Haven, Martha Atkichok (left) and Ruth Qirqqut (centre), are seen working on a sealskin tent last week with one of their students, Lisa Keknek (right). The traditional tent will be a stop for tourists when cruise ships return, hosted by the Nattilik Heritage Centre. The seamstresses are also repairing items like dog harnesses, dog back packs and caribou parkas to show in the tent. (Photo courtesy of the Nattilik Heritage Centre)
