Shelter from the cold

Due to the extreme winter weather, council moved to have the city’s administration department look into building bus stop shelters in particularly unprotected areas.

“I, unlike many other councillors, have been using the transit system since January,” councillor Lynda Gunn said.

“So I know what it’s like to stand out in the cold waiting.”

Gunn made a second suggestion that some of the bus stop locations be moved to more appropriate spots, particularly those which are situated just beyond an intersection.

The city plans to seek corporate sponsorship to pay for the construction of shelters.
