Gov. Gen. Mary Simon was welcomed back to Kuujjuaq with open arms as she began her Nunavik tour Monday.

Simon, who arrived in town the previous day, began her visit meeting local officials, reuniting with family and friends, and speaking to an attentive group of students.

The vice-regal Nunavik tour continues Tuesday as Simon spends the day in Kangiqsuallujjuaq.

Awesome! No place like home! Her face says it all, see her eyes full of joy and her face relaxed, at ease with family and friends. No place like home illa.

Beautiful pics, could see Mary more relaxed; the slideshow of pics did not show her with Louisa May…I was looking forward to seeing it as I was a little girl watching them become grown-ups…:)
