History was made in Iqaluit Thursday when years of negotiations led to the signing of a devolution agreement between the Government of Nunavut, the federal government and Nunavut Tunngavik Inc.

The ceremony included speeches, traditional singing and dancing and a lighting of the qulliq before Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, Premier P.J. Akeeagok and NTI president Aluki Kotierk signed the documents.

Here are some photos from the important event, held at the Aqsarniit hotel in Iqaluit.
