Quebec police have yet to make any arrests in connection with the death of a Nunavik man earlier this month.

Elijah Thomassiah, 60, died during an altercation on March 20 in Salluit, a community along Nunavik’s Hudson coast.

Kativik Regional Police Force officers initially arrested someone in connection with the man’s death, but the suspect was then released.

The KRPF has since turned the investigation over to Quebec’s provincial police, the Sûreté du Québec, who say the investigation is ongoing.

Police said they are not treating the death as a homicide for the time being.
