“Super blood wolf moon” seen over Kuujjuaq
Kuujjuaq’s Allen Gordon caught this image of the moon turning crimson last night, during a lunar eclipse that produced what’s called a “super blood wolf moon.” Super means the moon is near its closest point in its orbit around the earth. Blood refers to the red colour created by the moon passing through the Earth’s shadow, while wolf moon refers to the first full moon of the year. “No tripod, hands freezing, quick shots and one turned out good,” wrote Gordon.
