The Taloyoak and Kugaaruk family wellness offices have been closed due to staff shortages, the Government of Nunavut announced Monday.
The closures took effect immediately, according to a news release the government issued.
The Taloyoak office will remain closed until May 26, while the Kugaaruk office is closed until further notice.
During the closures, a limited number of staff are available for emergent and restricted services, such as family visits and client assistance to and from appointments.
Delays should be expected when phoning the on-call numbers at the family wellness offices. The GN advises people who are having an emergency should contact the local RCMP detachment.
The Government of Nunavut website provides contact numbers for all family wellness offices across the territory.
I’m a little unclear on the terminology, does Family Wellness Center mean ‘Health Center’?
