No charges laid, alcohol not a factor in Thursday afternoon crash, police say

The passenger in a taxi suffered undisclosed injuries Thursday afternoon in a two-vehicle collision in front of Qikiqtani General Hospital in Iqaluit, the RCMP says. At 3:35 p.m., police in Iqaluit were called to the collision involving a taxi and another vehicle, according to Staff Sgt. Maj. Pauline Melanson. No one else was injured. Alcohol was not a factor in the collision and it was unknown if weather was a factor. No charges were to be laid at this time, Melanson said. (Photo by Jason Sudlovenick, special to Nunatsiaq News)
