Teen ordered to apologize for breaking jaw
A 17-year-old Iqaluit boy received 18 months of probation after pleading guilty to assault causing bodily harm.
The youth, who cannot be named according to the Youth Justice Act, broke another teen’s jaw in a parking lot brawl on May 3.
Crown lawyer Ken Kehler called the attack unprovoked.
The defence lawyer disagreed, saying the fight was rooted in a high school dispute.
The boy was ordered apologize to the complainant.
