Temperatures up in Iceland, too
Reykjavik, Iceland experienced its warmest February since 1965 last month, said the daily newspaper Morgunbladid. The average temperature in Reykjavik was 3.3 C to 2.9 C above February norms.
According to the Icelandic Meteorological Office, February 2006 was the fourth warmest since 1866 when meteorological measurements started.
The sun also shone through clear skies for 58 hours in the city last month, six hours more than the average.
The highest and lowest February temperatures this year in Iceland were 16.2 C and -25.8 C.
