Thank-you to the students of Puvirnituq

The Tungasuvvik Women’s Shelter of Kuujjuaq would like to express its sincere thanks to the students of Iquaarsivik School of Puvirnituq for their cash donations to our shelter.

During the White Ribbon Campaign, the students took it upon themselves to raise awareness about violence against women, and raised funds for the shelter. White Ribbon Campaign week is an annual event from Nov. 25 to Dec. 6.

We are very proud of the students for speaking out, as this is a very important issue. Violence in our homes affects our children more than we realize. As adults, we will be happier, healtheir, mentally and physically, if we experience a healthy home environment as children.

We would like the students to know that we will be using their donation specifically for the children who come to the shelter, to purchase a psycho-educational, assessment and therapeutic tool designed for use with children aged 6-12.
