Thank you for unified time zone

I am taking this opportunity to publicly thank the cabinet and ordinary members of the Nunavut legislative assembly for their warm-hearted and inclusive gesture of creating one time zone for all of Nunavut.

This was a very nice move to show the people of the Kitikmeot and Keewatin that the Baffin region will not saddle them with a “tyranny of the majority.” A society is judged by the way it treats its minorities and prisoners, and this time zone change has raised the standard of decency which Nunavut is setting for others.

I would also like to give a very large thank-you to my MLA, Mr. Levi Barnabas, for all for all of the hard work that I am sure that he did to convince the other MLAs to carry out this time zone change.
