Thanks from Arnalukjuak family
On behalf of the Arnalukjuak family in Arviat, we extend our greatest and most sincere thank you to the many many people of Nunavut who attended the late John Arnalukjuak’s funeral service, and to those who in thought and deed have shown sympathy to my father when he passed away.
To name some, and some are not mentioned only because of limited space: Reverend Jimmy Muckpah; Mike Gibbons of the Anglican Church; Thomas Ubluriak; Susan Pameork of the Roman Catholic Church; David Alagalak, mayor of Arviat; Henry Isluanik, Arviat Elder; Moses Aliyak, Rankin Elder; Donat Milortok, KIA; Raymond Ningeocheak, NTI; Nancy Karetak-Lindell, Nunavut MP; Kevin O’Brien, MLA; Peter Irniq, Commissioner of Nunavut.
All that has been said and done has greatly blessed and comforted us.
And a special thank-you to the CHC in Churchill, Manitoba, doctors and nurses for his health care in his last days, and Arviat Health Centre nurses for providing medical attention when he needed it; Arviat Elders Centre for providing care 24 hours a day; Luke Suluk, for Faith and Hope — God is great; Annie Ollie, best friend.
And to the many relatives across Kivalliq and Nunavut, for coming to Arviat for the funeral service: Tittaqs, Seeteenaks, Nukiks, Amarooks, and those not mentioned, but remembered.
It was sadness, but not grief. You will be greatly missed, you will be remembered for unselfish deeds. Farewell beloved father, Gentleman of Nunavut.
With our sincere thank-you,
Nick & Eva Arnalukjuak and
family members
Arviat, Nunavut
