Thanks to First Air for helping gospel festival

By NUNATSIAQ NEWS

Recently, during the weekend of April 23, I organized a Gospel Festival in Repulse Bay in honor of the late Paul Siusarnat. It was a great success.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank, Ed Picco of First Air for assisting the people travelling to Repulse to attend this event by providing excellent return airfares.

By expanding their routes, First Air has now opened doors for people to travel from Baffin to Kitikmeot and northern Quebec. The communities are now able to connect with relatives and friends from the different regions because of these new routings.

I recall as a member of the Legislative Assembly, the communities asking for many of these routings for the new Nunavut territory.

I was pleased to again work with Ed Picco, previously a cabinet minister in Nunavut,  to assist with this successful event for the people of Repulse Bay and other communities who were able to attend.

Thank you very much First Air!
