The northern lights shimmer near Rankin Inlet

“That’s no sunset!” writes Rankin Inlet photographer David Kakuktinniq. “That’s the moon over the horizon. Along with the beautiful northern lights/ᐊᒃᓴᕐᖕᓂᖅ outside of Rankin Inlet, #Nunavut.” The moon appears so bright because of the long exposure used to capture the northern lights in the shot, taken on Aug. 28.
