When Santa Claus comes to town on Saturday, please don’t cut him off in your car.

The City of Iqaluit is warning of possible traffic delays on Saturday during the annual Santa Claus parade, and is asking drivers and pedestrians to respect the participants and spectators and not cut in between or alongside floats.

The parade is due to leave the Arctic Winter Games arena at 1 p.m. and travel toward the Four Corners intersection. From there, it will turn left and end at the Nakasuk school parking lot, according to a news release from the city Tuesday.

After the parade, Santa Claus will be at the Elders Qammaq from 2 until 4 p.m. to meet children and pose for photos.

The deadline to register a float for the parade is Dec. 1.
