Transportation Safety Board to investigate Nunavut runway incident
Calm Air cargo flight skidded off Naujaat’s runway Nov. 26
The Transportation Safety Board of Canada has launched an investigation into an aircraft accident last week in Naujaat.
On Nov. 26, Calm Air cargo flight 464 skidded off the runway around 1:30 p.m. local time. The aircraft was an ATR-42-300.
Calm Air said no passengers were on board at the time and the crew received medical evaluations. No injuries were reported.
The airline said it reported the incident to the TSB, which is now deploying a team of investigators to Naujaat, the federal agency said Dec. 2.
The federal agency is tasked with investigating transportation accidents to determine the cause and note safety deficiencies that need to be addressed.
