Unhelpful letter

I read with dismay Ian Ridpath’s unhelpful letter about gay suicide.

To help individuals choose life and live with dignity and self-respect, we need compassion – as well as education and opportunities – rather than judgment and ­misinformation.

If only Ian Ridpath, Ted Haggard and similar thinkers could keep their intolerance, their proselytizing and their outdated and uninformed views on sexuality to themselves.
