Victims’ assistance centre for Hudson Bay

KRG councilors approved a resolution in support of a second assistance centre for victims of crime.

A first centre, the Centre d’aide aux victims d’actes criminals du Nunavik or Sapumijiit opened last year in Kuujjuaq. The second centre would likely be located in Salluit.

The centre is part of a Quebec-wide network of facilities that provide information, technical assistance, referrals and comfort to men and women over 18 who are victims of crimes, their families or witnesses of crimes. Services are free and they’re confidential.
