Warrant issued after man misses court date

A warrant has been issued for the arrest of Inusiq Shoo, 41, after he failed to appear in court on Oct. 7.

Shoo is charged in connection with a sexual assault alleged to have occurred in Iqaluit on June 18.

Shoo helped launch the year-old Niqinik food bank by appearing in local newspapers and talking about the territory’s need for supplementary food programs.

His photo appeared this year in the nationally distributed This Magazine in an article on homelessness in Iqaluit.
