Watch your route: Road, bridge closures coming to Iqaluit
Apex Bridge, Queen Elizabeth Way and Sinaa Street to be affected

Construction in Iqaluit over the next two weeks is expected to affect traffic flow through the city.
The areas affected include Sinaa Street, which will see a full closure and detour via Umiaq Crescent; Apex Bridge, which will close with a detour via Angel Street; and a closure of Queen Elizabeth Way at Sinaa Street. A detour will be via Palaugaa Drive.
The closures will be in effect between Monday and Aug. 8, said city spokesperson Geoffrey Byrne in a public service announcement issued July 25.
Closure times are not determined yet.
“Due to the nature of the work, exact closure dates for each location are dependent on project progress and weather,” he said in the announcement. “The work will proceed in phases.”
Residents are advised to follow posted signage and use alternate routes where available.
