Where to watch Arctic Winter Games from Whitehorse
CBC Gem, Hometeam Network plan to broadcast events including Sunday’s opening ceremony

The Arctic Winter Games are scheduled to kick off Sunday evening with an opening ceremony in Whitehorse.
The opening ceremony is planned to start at 7:30 p.m. local time (9:30 p.m. EDT) at the city’s Shipyards Park, bringing together athletes and officials from different Arctic jurisdictions “in a shared celebration of culture, sport and connection,” the Games’ January news release says.
Event are set to be broadcast on Hometeam Network and on CBC Gem.
The Arctic Winter Games run from March 8 to 15. Approximately 2,000 athletes, coaches and cultural delegates are expected to participate. Eight regional contingents are set to compete in 20 sports including archery, hockey, snowboarding and table tennis.
The eight teams taking part in the Games are from Nunavut, Nunavik, Alaska, the Yukon, the Northwest Territories, northern Alberta, Greenland and the Sápmi region of Scandinavia.
The 2026 Games mark the sixth time that Whitehorse has hosted the event.
