Prime Minister Mark Carney is in Kuujjuaq Tuesday to meet with Inuit leaders.

Carney’s office announced the visit Monday evening. He will co-chair a meeting of the Inuit-Crown Partnership Committee alongside Natan Obed, president of Inuit Tapiriit Kanatami.

Created in 2017, the partnership committee offers a venue for Inuit leaders and the federal government to discuss priorities in federal spending and policies across Canada’s Inuit regions.

Carney’s appearance at the meeting comes on the heels of sharp remarks Obed made June 19 during ITK’s Arctic security conference in Ottawa.

“If a partnership with Canada is not on the table, if we are not going to be respected as partners, then should we not be looking for other partners as well to uphold our interests?” Obed said at the one-day conference.

Obed did not offer much elaboration on his remarks but he has been critical of the prime minister’s plan to push infrastructure projects deemed to be of national interest through the federal regulatory process.

The proposed Grays Bay road and port project in western Nunavut is eyed as one of the first projects that could get this push.

Carney and Obed are scheduled to provide opening remarks at Tuesday’s Inuit-Crown Partnership Committee.

Who is Natan !?! To say that !

What a spoiled kid attitude, “ if I don’t get my way , I’m going to look for other parents to adopt me”

He doesn’t speak for Inuit , he speaks for himself and his pride.

Where can I get hockey sweaters such as they are wearing, such a fine logo.
In Nunavut there are many organizations and communities with fine logos.
Where can we buy them, or see pictures of community and organization logos
