Iqaluit man faces charges after shots fired in Apex
An Iqaluit man faces a slew of charges after shots were exchanged with police in Apex Oct. 2.
Levi Nowdlak, 18, faces two counts of attempted murder, two counts of pointing a firearm, and one count each of endangering life by using a firearm, uttering threats, unlawful confinement, assault, assault with a weapon, and possession of a weapon contrary to the public peace.
Sgt. Jimmy Akavak said the incident began at a house in Apex. Two men then fled to a spot near the bridge, where the exchange of gunfire took place.
The two men gave themselves up. No one was injured in the shootout, Akavak said.
A second male was arrested, but later released without charges.
