New life for IODE Hall?

By NUNATSIAQ NEWS

Two interested parties recently approached the city and asked to take the IODE hall off its hands.

The building stands boarded up and abandoned in Apex, and two past attempts to sell the old hall were unsuccessful.

Council is accepting requests for proposals for the building. Any requests will need to meet two requirements: the building will need to be brought up to code, and the lot the building stands on needs to be subdivided, because it’s located on the same lot as the Abe Okpik Hall.
An inspection done by an engineer hired by the city found the building is free of asbestos.
