First Air subsidiaries snag 95 per of GN freight business

First Air’s two regional subsidiary airlines, Qikqtani First Aviation and Sakku First Aviation own the lion’s share of the Government of Nunavut’s air freight business for the next 12 months, the companies said June 7 in a news release.

“The standing offer is for all Government of Nunavut freight for the next 12 months and includes deliveries between most Nunavut communities,” the release said.

Qikiqtani First is First Air’s joint venture with Qikiqtaaluk Corp. and Sakku First is a joint venture between Sakku Investments Corp. and First Air.

Our airlines link more people than anyone else, and we do this in a timely and cost-effective manner,” Qikiqtani First president Harry Flaherty said in the news release.
