More signs of gold at the Three Bluffs gold project
“The gold mineralization system is extensive, strong and persists to depth”

This map from the North Country Gold website shows the location of its Three Bluffs gold project as well as Nunavut’s other gold mines and projects.
North Country Gold Corp. has reported more encouraging results from its 2011 drill program at the Three Bluffs gold project in the Committee Bay greenstone belt located northeast of Baker Lake.
The latest results from 29 diamond drill holes, combined with existing drilling at the Three Bluffs’s Walker Lake trend, show “the gold mineralization system is extensive, strong and persists to depth,” the company said in a Nov. 8 news release.
North Country Gold controls one of the largest under-explored gold-rich greenstone belts in Canada.
The Committee Bay greenstone belt is located 180 kilometres northeast of Agnico Eagle’s Meadowbank gold mine, and the Three Bluffs deposit is geologically comparable, with similar grades, type of mineralization and age as the Meadowbank and Meliadine gold deposits.
The Three Bluffs deposit contains at least 508,000 ounces of gold, but North Country Gold wants to add to that figure and find more “near-surface open-pittable gold resources,” according to information posted on its website.
The company’s 2012 program promises to be “equally aggressive,” with the potential for eight to 10 drill rigs targeting over 40,000 metres.
So far, North Country Gold has conducted $47.5 million of exploration within the Committee Bay belt region.
If all goes well, North Country Gold plans to produce a project description submission for 2013.
