Nunavik Marine Region Planning Commission launches trilingual website

The Nunavik Marine Region Planning Commission now has a trilingual website, in Inuttitut, English and French, to support its activities.

Established by the Nunavik Inuit Land Claims Agreement, the commission, among other things, develops land use planning policies in the offshore region.

Qaujimautik Systems Inc., an Inuit-owned company based near Montreal, specializing in the communication, navigation and internet technology-based industries, developed the website, public registry and other web applications.

Th goal: to streamline the commission’s communication with the public and help provide information and data to its members, said a Feb. 21 news release about the website.

The website includes information about the commission, Nunavik and land use planning.

The public registry gives users access to studies, reports, guidelines, policies, financial information and resolutions.

Users can also find maps, articles and schedules as well as a live web map service on the website.

Dates for the Nunavik-wide use and occupancy mapping study being conducted by the commission and key land use planning documents will be posted in the public registry.
