Photo: Fieldwork at Immiligaajuk reveals Viking presence in South Baffin

An archaeology crew does fieldwork at Cape Tanfield, or Immiligaajuk, outside of Kimmirut. A small stone container found by archaeologists at the same site 50 years ago, with fragments of bronze inside, is now being considered as the earliest evidence of metalworking in the Canadian Arctic.
