Iqaluit drivers plow through potholes and puddles near North Mart on May 1. At a city council meeting the night before, the condition of roads in Iqaluit came up for discussion, with Coun. Mark Morrissey asking that drainage issues on Iqaluit's Road to Nowhere be dealt with. People there “can’t even park in their driveways” and there is going to be a lot of runoff from all of the snow piled up, Morrissey said. “It’s certainly an uphill battle for public works,” Mayor John Graham said. In response to a question from Coun., Terry Dobbin, Graham told councillors that the director of public works would appear before council during the next meeting to address Iqaluit’s pothole problems.
