By NUNATSIAQ NEWS

Kimmirut women model kamiks they recently made with the help of two elder instructors including Annie Ikkidluak, seated in middle. The five-month program just wrapped up March 31 and allowed enough time for working and non-working women to complete their kamiks during day and evening instruction time. Monica Gardner, Kimmirut's community justice outreach worker, organized the program with funding through Nunavut's Department of Culture and Heritage and with materials supplied by the Ilisaqsivik Society in Clyde River. From left: Ningeorapik Kolola, Padluk Judea, Lysee Itulu, Ikkidluak, Jeannie Padluq, Levena Uyte and Kayla Nutarasungik. Read more about the program later on Nunatsiaqonline.ca.
