Photo: New kind of scarecrow on Iqaluit beach?

By NUNATSIAQ NEWS

Is this a new type of scarecrow to ward off ravens, and possibly people, in Iqaluit? The hide of a grizzly bear stands guard on the Iqaluit beach front July 1 under clear blue skies. Grizzlies are not found, historically, on Baffin Island, according to Parks Canada's website. This bear must have crossed the Hudson Bay for Canada Day celebrations in Nunavut's capital, or to take in the Alianait Arts Festival. (PHOTO BY THOMAS ROHNER)
