Politicians gather alongside Arctic Winter Games athletes and participants in Nunavut’s Legislative Assembly Feb. 29 to model Team Nunavut’s new look ahead of the games next week in Nuuk, Greenland. Nunavut will be represented by 180 athletes and participants during this year’s games, set to start March 6. “Team Nunavut will be easy to spot in Nuuk, with the bright colours that symbolize our flag,” Nunavut Community and Government Services Minister Joe Savikataaq told the media. Cultural liaisons, who will don the green Nunavut jacket pictured above, will be on-hand to provide information to visiting teams during the satellite AWG hockey tournament in Iqaluit, scheduled to start March 7.
