Nunavik beneficiaries of the James Bay Northern Quebec Agreement can access three $500 tickets apiece to travel between the northern villages and Montreal or Quebec City.
Air Inuit announced the offer on its website this week. It’s effective as of Monday and available until March 31, 2025 or until funds “dedicated to the program” are depleted.
The announcement also says the program “may be discontinued without prior notice or may not be renewed after March 31, 2025.”
The $500 fare includes all taxes and surcharges, and can be used for Air Inuit and Canadian North flights as long as it is booked through Air Inuit reservations at 1-800-361-2965.
It cannot be used for one-way travel or for travel between Nunavik communities.
Once purchased, the tickets are valid for 12 months and become non-refundable after that point. Before then, refunding can be done at the cost of $50, plus tax.
This is the second time Makivvik and Air Inuit have provided this program to Nunavimmiut. The first time was last year.
