Dividing up Nunavut’s new housing units

IQALUIT — Housing Minister Manitok Thompson’s task force on housing is recommending that the 100 new housing units that they are proposing for next year be allocated in the following manner.

Communities recommended to receive six units each:

Iqaluit;
Baker Lake;
Arviat;
Pond Inlet;
Rankin Inlet;
Pangnirtung;
Igloolik;
Cape Dorset;
Kugluktuk.
Communities recommended to receive four units each:

Cambridge Bay;
Gjoa Haven;
Taloyoak;
Clyde River;
Sanikiluaq;
Hall Beach;
Coral Harbour.
Communities recommended to receive two units each:

Arctic Bay;
Repulse Bay;
Qikiqtarjuaq;
Kugaaruk (Pelly Bay);
Kimmirut;
Chesterfield Inlet;
Whale Cove;
Resolute Bay;
Grise Fiord
