Flipping through the file photos – March 17

Nunatsiaq News’ weekly dive into its photo archives during newspaper’s 50th anniversary

By Nunatsiaq News

A black-and-white image of a fire at Iqaluit’s Bahai House 33 years ago today and a vibrant portrait that looks like it was part of a formal shoot are among the file photos we’re sharing this week.

Each week during Nunatsiaq News’ 50th anniversary this year, we are thumbing through pictures the paper has taken or received over the years.

Information about these photos is sketchy. In a lot of cases, very little is known about them.

That’s why we’re turning to readers to help us identify who is in the picture and tell us what’s happening. If you recognize yourself or someone you know, let us know.

Send an email to [email protected] or add a comment to the bottom of the slideshow and we’ll add that information to the photo.

In the March 11 batch of photos, a reader helped identify two women.
