It’s no trick — ghouls and goblins in Iqaluit will have to wait another day before filling up on Halloween treats.

The City of Iqlauit has officially postponed trick-or-treating until Nov. 1 due to “weather conditions and visibility.”

The city issued a public service announcement Tuesday at 4:30 p.m., just an hour before the prime time for trick or treating.

The traditional Halloween activity will take place instead on Wednesday, Nov. 1, the city’s announcement said.

The temperature was -8 C at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday, with “light snow and blowing snow,” according to Environment and Climate Change Canada. There could be up to 10 cm of snow falling and winds were predicted to gust up to 70 km/h.

Wednesday’s forecast calls for the same conditions with a high of -3 C and a low of -6 C.
