The Iqaluit landfill is again accepting metal waste from residents, a city spokesperson announced Wednesday.
Businesses and commercial customers will be permitted to make these types of disposals starting May 9.
A temporary ban on accepting metal was put in place April 19 after the city said the amount of metal waste already on site was creating a safety risk for staff and the public.
Staff worked to reduce and organize the volume of metal in order to reopen the landfill to metal waste.
