Karetak-Lindell looks at food mail
Nancy Karetak-Lindell, the MP for Nunavut, held consultations this week in Churchill, Arviat and Rankin Inlet to talk about alternatives to Churchill as an entry point for Kivalliq food mail shipments.
People who use food mail may only use certain designated “entry points.” In many cases, this actually adds to the cost of food bought under the system.
The auditor general of Canada, in a recent report, said the federal government should review its choice of food mail entry points.
