Why isn’t the Nunavik Police Services making these criminals names public? Why is the Quebec Justice System allowing violent criminals to be sent out of their home communities and placing them in other Nunavik communities where they commit other violent acts? To me, its Corruption. And they are just passing the burden to other people in other villages to deal with.

Nunavut Court of Justice does the same thing in Iqaluit. They will remand someone from the communities and then release them in Iqaluit. Most of them never return to the communities and cause problems here.

It’s not NCJ responsibility to return the accused to their home community.

Besides perhaps the accused wants to stay in Iqaluit because it is safer than their home community or for any other number of reasons.

Attacking and assault, seems to be right up there in the crimes of Nunavik. No one really is immune to be assaulted. Attack on the mayor of a community could possibly be indicating that the desperation and frustrations, as manifested in the criminal action, has crossed yet another line towards undermining authority, or authority undermining citizens, and citizens are taking a no care attitude, and the devide continues its gap. When you assault someone , there’s no excuse, no matter what, but hopefully for anyone monitoring and studying crime, and its impact, these crimes should not go unnoticed , as just another crime. Just saying.
