Answers

  1. B — The pin sets, which are a popular trading item for athletes at the Games, have a design depicting the push-pull event from the Dene games. The Arctic Winter Games run from March 8 to 15 in Whitehorse.
  2. C — Oddly enough, there is no male category in figure skating at the Arctic Winter Games. Same goes for gymnastics. It doesn’t seem fair.
  3. C — The answer is basketball. Peyton Dyer-Aknavigak was nominated to be the flag-bearer by her coaches Olivia Tapatai and Megan Hachey.
  4. A — The Coral Harbour North Stars emerged victorious in the under-18 category at the Tootoo tournament that ran Feb. 18 to 22 in Rankin Inlet. They defeated the host team Rankin Rock 5-3 in the final.
  5. A — West Coast band Trooper performed two shows in Cambridge Bay on Feb. 20 and 21. Judging by the photo the band posted on Facebook, the audience did have a good time (if not for a long time, to borrow a reference from one of Trooper’s best-known songs).
